Day 1 Arrival to Beijing

Upon your arrival at the Beijing airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from jetlag.

Day 2 Beijing

On this day you will first visit Tiananmen Square followed by the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon you will marvel at the incredible Temple of Heaven.

– The Tian’anmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace) Square: the largest city square in the world and the spiritual heart of China, where the national flag is raised exactly at sunrise everyday.
– The Forbidden City: located in the center of Beijing, used to be the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years, it is the grandest integral palace complex still remaining in China.
– The Temple of Heaven: the place which was visited yearly by the emperors who performed intricate rituals to insure a good harvest for the whole nation at ancient times.

Day 3 Beijing

You will visit to the magnificent Great Wall (Mutianyu section) and Sacred Road.

– The Great Wall: the most famous symbol of China and one of the world’s most remarkable architectural wonders, it was built over 2,000 years ago and stretching about 6,700km.
– The Great Wall at Mutianyu: Mutianyu is a popular section of the Great Wall, located about 70 km northeast of Beijing. The scenery is truly spectacular and therefore this section enjoys a lot of visitors, both domestic and foreign. There is a number of small villages scattered around this part of the Wall.
– The Sacred Road: the path lined with stone statues of animals, mystical beasts and officials who serve the emperor in his afterlife, through which the sitting emperors would go to perform memorial rituals for the ancestors once a year.

Day 4 Beijing / Xian

Transfer via: Domestic flight will be arranged for you.
You will visit the exquisite Summer Palace before being escorted to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon you arrival Xian, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.
– The Summer Palace: Located on the northwestern outskirts of the city, it was an imperial summer resort of the Qing Dynasty. With its perfect layout, magnificent buildings and enchanting landscape, it is the most splendid classical garden in China.

Day 5 Xian

Today you will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors in the morning and then visit the Ancient City Walls in the afternoon.

– Terracotta Warriors: discovered in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, the warriors were one of the most significant archeological finds of the 20th century. The over 6,000 life-size painted terracotta warriors and horses individually sculpted from real-life models and arranged in battle formation have been protecting the mausoleum of the first emperor in Chinese history, Emperor Qin Shihuang, for over 2,200 years.
– The Ancient City Walls: built during the 14th century on Tang dynasty foundations, date to the Ming Dynasty; the walls are the largest and best-preserved ancient fortress in the world. There is a gate in each of the four sides, the gate towers built over each gate look lofty and magnificent and form a tight defense engineering system.

Day 6 Xian / Chengdu

Transfer via: Domestic flight will be arranged for you.
You will tour The Great Mosque and visit the local Muslim community before being escorted to the airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon you arrival in Chengdu, your local guide will meet you and escort to your hotel.

– The Great Mosque: the largest mosque in Xi’an and one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China with more than 1200 years’ history, the mosque possesses not only traditional Chinese architectural style, but also features peculiar to Islamic mosques and now it is a major spot for religious activities of 50,000 Muslims in Xi’an.

Day 7  Chengdu

On this day, you will visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, followed by a trip to the Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu and Jili Old Street.

-Giant Panda Breeding Research Base: 18km from the city center, is home to 12 pandas. It is the best place to see Chengdu’s most famous residents get to know more about this precious species.
– Wenshu Temple: Chengdu’s oldest and largest Buddhist temple was originally built in Tang Dynasty. It was rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty and features exquisite relief carvings. You can absorb the very atmosphere of Chengdu here: the temple is full of local worshippers burning incense. The tea house at the back of the complex is a great place to relax yourself and do some people watching, while the streets outside are filled with blind fortune-tellers, hawkers selling incense, paper money and statues.
– Jinli Old Street: located in Chengdu combines the ambience of ancient and modern China. Jinli Old Street was constructed in 2004 in the traditional architectural style of Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Jinli Old Street is not only a wonderful reminder China’s past, but also a great place for people to fully appreciate Sichuan’s customs, and folk arts.

Day 8 Chengdu / Jiuzhaigou Valley (* in cheaper option will be : Guilin)

You will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Jiuzhaigou. The excursion on this day will be to Huanglong Scenic Area-65km away from the airport which is about 1-hour drive through Mt. Xueshanliangzi at 4200m altitude. Drive to Jiuzhaigou Town 2000m altitude (128km, about 2.5-hour drive back through Mt. Xueshanliangzi) after the tour, you will spend the night in Jiuzhaigou Town.

– Huanglong Scenic Area: Huanglong means Yellow Dragon, it is so called because of the legend that 4000 years ago a yellow dragon helped the King of the Xia Kingdom dredge the floodwater into the sea and create the Min River, and later a temple was built in memory of this yellow dragon. Edged by snow-capped peaks and glaciers, the Huanglong Valley is praised for its colorful limestone ponds, and is full of waterfalls, hot springs, and flora and fauna.

 

Day 9 Jiuzhaigou (or Guilin)

On this day you will enjoy a tour to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. The highest part is Long Lake at 3100m above sea level. You can then take the tourist bus to the top, then walk down part way and take the bus down the rest of the way.
– Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area: located in Aba Autonomous Prefecture. Jiuzhaigou means “Nine Village Valley” for the nine Tibetan villages scattered through the valley. This area is famed for its jade green lakes, layers of waterfalls, snow-covered peaks, and the folk lore of Tibetans. Listed by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, it is the home to rare animals and plants.

Day 10 Jiuzhaigou (or Guilin / Chengdu/Chongqing/Yangtze)

Transfer via: Domestic flight and bullet train will be arranged for you.
You will be free until your local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to Chengdu, upon you arrival in Chengdu airport, you will be met and transfer to the train station for your bullet train to Chongqing. Upon you arrival in Chongqing, you will be met and transfer to the dock for your Yangtze Cruise which will departs Chongqing at 21:30.

-Fengdu Ghost City: constructed on the Mingshan Hill by the river bank, it is so called because of the legend which goes that about 1,700 years ago, two officials, Yin and Wang (the combination of their surnames means “Ghost King “) became Taoists here and eventually Immortals. Now with fantastic temples of underworld demons and gods, it shows the Chinese ghost culture and is a place for punishing the devil and awarding the good.

-Lesser Three Gorges: indicating three separate valleys along the Daning River, the chief tributary of the Yangtze River, they are called “Dragon-Gate Gorge”, “Misty Gorge” and “Dicui (Emerald) Gorge” respectively. You can take a small boat to enjoy the spectacular views and experience a water-borne sensation you have never had before when the natural scenic wonders unfold in front of you with clear water flowing fast through the gorges, sheer cliffs and steep mountains rising on either side to create one fine art gallery.

Day 13 Yangtze Cruising / Shanghai

Transfer via: Domestic flight will be arranged by you

07.30-10.30, Shore Excursion to the Dam site, 12.00 arrive in Yichang, disembarks at the Peach pier. Then you will be met and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai, upon you arrival shanghai, your local guide will meet you and escort to your hotel.

–The Three Gorges Dam: spanning the Yangtze at Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei province, China, construction began in 1994, it is now the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. The Dam will be 2,335 meters long, 18 meters wide, and its bottom will be 130 meters wide after completion in 2009, and by then the water level will rise to 135 meters above sea level. The reservoir began filling on June 1, 2003, and will occupy the present position of the scenic Three Gorges area, between the cities of Yichang, Hubei; and Fuling, Chongqing Municipality.

Day 14 Shanghai

You will visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, which chronicles Shanghai’s past, present and future. You will immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere in the Jade Buddha Temple. You will later stroll along the Bund and Nanjing Road. After, you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of the modern Shanghai from the Jinmao Tower.

– Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: This museum has five floors that detail the ambitious plans of Shanghai’s urban planners. It fully displays the achievements of Shanghai in city planning and construction and embodies the theme of “city, man, environment, and development”.
– Jade Buddha Temple: named after its exquisite milk-white jade Buddha brought from Burma in the 19th century by a Chinese monk, it is a spiritual oasis in the midst of a modern metropolis.

-The Bund: often referred to as a “museum of buildings” this street used to be Shanghai’s financial hub and features 19th century buildings built in Western styles. It offers great views of Huangpu River traffic, and the skyscrapers of the Pudong area.
– Nanjing Road: a shopper’s Mecca with a huge selection of merchandise on sale. It is famous for its modern fashions.
– Jinmao Tower: inspired by a traditional Chinese pagoda, Jinmao Tower is the third tallest building in the world and the tallest building in China. From its observation deck, visitors can see the rapidly changing Shanghai skyline.

Day 15 Shanghai / Departure

Transfer via: International flight arranged on your own.
You will be free on this day until your personal guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your destination.
