Japan is an island nation in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean.

The Japanese characters that make up Japan’s name mean “sun-origin”, which is why Japan is sometimes referred to as the “Land of the Rising Sun”. The unique architecture and culture of Japan makes it a place you have to visit in your lifetime, seeing Japan on a television screen is interesting experiencing the culture is mesmerizing.

Japan is an archipelago of 6,852 islands.The four largest islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku. Japan has a population of 127 million people. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes capital city, Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world, with over 30 million residents.

Japan is a major economic power and has the world’s third-largest economy. After Singapore, Japan has the lowest homicide rate in the world (including attempted homicide).

Japan has some of the best health statistics in the world and this is partly because of the traditional diet of fish and rice commonly known as Sushi.

The best times to visit Japan are in the spring – between March and May   and autumn: between September and November.
